KEEP – Kol HaNeshama English Experience Program |
In 1998, Kol HaNeshama embarked on a community service project to benefit underprivileged school aged children in our neighborhood. The “KEEP” project offers weekly English enrichment study groups to 40 local 4th -8th grade students. Kol HaNeshama’s many “Anglos” are ideally suited to contribute in this way. The volunteer tutors are all North Americans who have chosen to spend at least a year in Israel.

Noar Telem Youth Group |
Our youth movement, TELEM (a Hebrew acronym for Israel’s Movement for Progressive Judaism) currently comprises about 160 members, aged 9-18. The charismatic counselors, most of whom are TELEM graduates and young members of the congregation, lead activities combining a commitment to social justice, Jewish learning and values clarification with, of course, lots of fun. TELEM demonstrates to youngsters that every age can contribute to tikkun olam.

Bar & Bat Mitzvah Program |
| Our Bar/Bat Mitzva Program meets a real need for our members and simultaneously reaches out to the wider community. This program has deeply impacted many of the 60-plus families who participate annually, half of whom are not members of Kol HaNeshama. The overall goal of the 15-session program is to provide a creative, educational, religious and social framework within which each child and his/her family can find a meaningful way to mark this traditional rite of passage. |
